托福學(xué)術(shù)討論題要求的篇幅是100單詞以上，實(shí)戰(zhàn)中寫到150-160也就是極限了，再長的話都沒時(shí)間檢查了，因此，如果你看的材料大部分都是動(dòng)輒大幾百甚至上千詞的外刊文章，那么不僅有效信息會(huì)非常少，而且language efficiency也和咱們要寫的100多個(gè)單詞截然不同，學(xué)術(shù)討論題由于篇幅有限，大家多看那種用幾十單詞（三四句話）的篇幅說清楚一個(gè)論點(diǎn)的文章會(huì)比較有幫助，看其他材料的話，用的時(shí)候還得總結(jié)、縮寫。

最適合大家積累寫作語料的材料，其實(shí)就是高質(zhì)量的范文！不孤例地講語法，也不脫離語境來整理詞匯和句型，而是直接通過高質(zhì)量、易模仿的范文 (just about everything you need to know) 來幫助大家建立正確的寫作審美，并最終提高寫作能力。

題干里能收集到的表達(dá)方式有：

Gasoline-powered (petrol-powered) cars 汽油車

Reduce carbon dioxide emissions 減少碳排放
Expand public transportation 擴(kuò)大公交覆蓋面
Give tax breaks (to companies) 給（公司）減稅
Give rebates (to individuals) 給（個(gè)人）回扣

A far-off city 一個(gè)離得較遠(yuǎn)的城市

那么從范文里我們又能學(xué)到什么呢？

I also believe that providing financial support for the making as well as the purchase of electric cars would be a much better choice than developing public transportation. Paul is right about a lot of people needing their own cars in rural areas or remote places where there are only very few bus or subway routes. These people could not commute conveniently if they relied on public transportation only. Even though Claire says it could be easier and faster to commute using public transport, that is not the case in reality. 例句中的need一定要是ing形式，才能形成后置定語，用來修飾people，這個(gè)跟在介詞about后面的名詞。
